Audrey Marie Bowman

Williamsport, MD – Audrey Marie Bowman, 85, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Meritus Medical Center Hagerstown, MD.

She was born on June 20, 1931 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Eldon LeRoy “Bill” and Teresa Pauline Ebersole Clark.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Alvey Bowman on September 4, 2016.

She was a 1949 graduate of St. Mary’s School Hagerstown, MD.

She was a Homemaker.  For several years she was employed at Washington County Board of Education in the Early Intervention Program.

Audrey was a member of St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church Williamsport, MD.

For many years, she and her husband served as volunteer coaches and mentors to children and adults with special needs with the Washington County Special Olympics.

She enjoyed reading and spending time with family and friends.

Audrey is survived by her daughter M. Susan Mayhugh and her husband Anthony W. of Williamsport, MD; son Matthew T. Bowman of Williamsport, MD; brother J. Thomas Clark of California; granddaughter Emily E. Mayhugh and her partner Louis R. Cost; granddaughter Katharine L. Long and her husband Jason W. Long; great grandson Jackson D. Long.

She was predeceased by a sister Rita D. Hutzell.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church 17630 Virginia Avenue Hagerstown, MD on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 11:00 am with Rev. Father John Jicha celebrant.  The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 am.  Burial will be private at Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD.
