Barbara Jean Saunders

Downsville, MD – Barbara Jean Saunders, 79, of Downsville, MD passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at her home.

She was born on January 15, 1938 in Downsville, MD to the late Stanley Bruce and Mary Elizabeth Baker Rowland.

She was predeceased by her husband Ralph William Saunders on November 1, 2007.

She was a 1955 graduate of Williamsport High School.

She was employed by First National Bank in Washington County which later became M&T Bank for 42 years until retiring in 1999.

She was an avid gardener and took pride in her home grown tomatoes.  She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandkids.

Barbara is survived by her son Dennis Saunders and his wife Cheryl of Falling Waters, WV; daughter Lisa Saunders and her friend Steve Everhart of Williamsport, MD; son Rodney Saunders and his wife Michelle of Middletown, MD; son Jason Saunders and his wife Tiffany of Williamsport, MD; sister Lucille Houser of Downsville, MD; brother Albert Rowland of Downsville, MD; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers Ted Rowland and Stanley “Bud” Rowland.

Graveside services will be held at Rest Haven Cemetery Hagerstown, MD on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Kevin Smoot officiating.
