Betty Lorraine Harr

Williamsport, MD – Betty Lorraine Harr, 83, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Chambersburg Hospital Chambersburg, PA.

She was born on September 15, 1933 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Charles Victor and Mabel Lieucretia Shumaker Rowe.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Harr in 1993.

Betty was a 1951 graduate of Williamsport High School Williamsport, MD.

She was a Homemaker. In her earlier years she worked at the Federal Silk Mills in Williamsport, MD and Maryland Ribbon in Hagerstown, MD.

She was a member of Williamsport United Methodist Church Williamsport, MD where she was a Sunday School Teacher.

Betty lived in Williamsport all her life.

Betty was also a member of Red Feather Council #59 Degree of Pocahontas Williamsport, MD and Potomac Post #202 American Legion Auxiliary Williamsport, MD.

She is survived by her daughter Kathy I. Doty of Chambersburg, PA; son Gregory G. Reed of Martinsburg, WV; son Charles D. Reed; sister Rosalie Horchner of Greencastle, PA; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and her lifelong best friend Neva Martin of Halfway, MD.

She was predeceased by her daughter Linda K. Reed, two brothers Homer Rowe and Charles Rowe, sister Margaret Rhodes and a granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 11:00 am with Rev. Susan Boehl officiating.  The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday from 10:00-11:00 am.
