Manning, SC – Gary Wayne Yates, 71, of Manning, SC and formerly of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018 at his home.
He was born on December 19, 1946 in Hagerstown, MD to the late James Richard and Mildred Loretta Long Yates.
He was a 1964 graduate of South Hagerstown High School Hagerstown, MD.
Gary retired from Mack Trucks, Inc. of Hagerstown, MD and moved to Manning, SC.
He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish.
He is survived by his daughter Melissa D. Yates of Boulder, Colorado; daughter Jennifer Yates of Hagerstown, MD; son Jason Yates of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren Landen, Addison and Sullivan; sister Nancy Chism of Mechanicsville, MD.
He was predeceased by two brothers Charles Richard Yates and Travis Lee Yates.
There will be no viewing.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park Hagerstown, MD with Rev. Ernest E. Witmer officiating.
