I first met Gene when he was standing on his porch with his little black and white dog. Just this past summer he visited me regularly on his scooter, or requested a ride to the store. We had a laugh or two, or talked about old times. I saw him zooming around town on his scooter frequently, He drove it like a race car driver. He visited a lot of the tenants at Springfield just to shoot the breeze. Gene impressed me as a kind man looking out for us older folks. I am glad his summer was all he wanted to be, out and about, talking to people. And he came home to his cat Maggie, which he loved. I won't forget Gene, and am so glad he got to see his grandson. Rest well, Gene, from your neighbor and friend Becky.

I have loved you since you were a baby and I promised your Mom when she passed in 2009 that I would take care of you the best I could even if you were hard headed and wouldn't take your medicine when you were to. You got to hold the baby before your stroke and he sure is a little monkey and he smiles all the time.Just love him to pieces. you make sure you watch over him he will be 4 mo. old soon and tell Mom and Pap all about him they would have loved him so much. I know you will look for your buddy Billy up there so have a good life in heaven with the family till we all get there. Love you

My fondest memories of Beaser is when he was just around 4 years old, he loved to run around and around the table wanting me to catch him... Another memory was when he was still around 4 and he was at his Grandma Hutzells house with his new puppy (sparky) he had dropped it off the porch, when the puppy landed on the ground it had the air knocked out of him and a red leaf had landed on sparkys face. looking like blood, Beaser cried and cried with his heart broken thinking he had killed the puppy. I have many fond childhood memories of him and have thought of him through the years... I'm saddened to hear of his passing, he was a very sweet young man, may he rest in peace... No more pain will he suffer, only a reunion of happiness with his mom and dad again... My sincere condolences to his daughter Amanda and his grandson Rhykker...

Thank you so much April. I loved reading what you wrote. You are right, he is no longer suffering. Your writing means a lot to me.
