Williamsport, MD- George Turner Coe originally from Catonsville, MD passed away at his home on Thursday February 16, 2017 at the age of 91.  George was retired from his career as an engineer after working 35 years with C&P Telephone Co./AT&T in Baltimore, MD.  He had also served as a Machinist Mate 3rd Class for the US Navy during World War II.  George had a very sharp memory, was a talented writer and a gifted storyteller.  He was a music lover, an accomplished polka-dancer and joyful practical jokester.  He also had a genuine interest in his fellow man and the world around him, traveling in retirement with his wife and continuing to self-educate throughout his entire life.  He is survived by the love of his life Lillie Ruth Schofill Coe, to whom he was married for 70 years.  He is also survived by four children, four grandchildren, one great grandson and a sister.  George felt that God had truly blessed him with a life of exceptional good fortune and the love of many good people and he was surrounded by many of those wonderful friends and family in the final days of his life.  He wanted it remembered about him that he considered himself the luckiest and wealthiest man he ever knew.  Memorial services will be held on Saturday February 25, 2017 at 11:00am with Bishop Peggy Johnson officiating at Homewood Retirement Center 16505 Virginia Avenue Williamsport, MD 21795.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Doey’s House c/o Hospice of Washington County 747 Northern Avenue Hagerstown, MD 21742.  Online condolences may be made at www.osbornefuneralhome.net
