Boonsboro, MD – James Daniel “Danny” Hageman, Sr., 58, of Boonsboro, MD passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at his home after a long illness.
He was born on March 8, 1959 in Las Vegas, Nevada to the late Fred Earl and Louise Fern Merchant Hageman.
He attended Boonsboro High School.
He was employed by Roxbury Correctional Institution for 22 years until retiring in 2005.
Danny was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He previously attended Salem United Methodist Church of Keedysville.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and hunting mushrooms.
Danny was a loving husband, proud father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife Tammy Renee Pike Hageman whom he married October 24, 1982; daughter Ashley B. Hageman of Wendell, NC; son Staff Sergeant James Daniel Hageman, Jr. and his wife Tracy of Fairchild AFB in Spokane, Washington; sister Cheryl A. Johnson of Richmond, VA; grandchildren Ava J. Hageman and James D. Hageman, III.
Also survived by a special Aunt Wanda Heuer and her late husband Calvin W. Heuer whom raised Danny from a young age along with her two sons Allan and Bruce Heuer. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
He was predeceased by a sister Gail L. Hageman and a half brother John Canary.
The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Tuesday for the convenience of family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at Fairview Cemetery Keedysville, MD on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Ernest E. Witmer officiating. Military graveside services will be provided by Joint Veterans Council of Washington County and Marine Corps League of Hagerstown, MD.
