John Demetrius Reynolds

Williamsport, Maryland- John Demetrius Reynolds, 91 of Williamsport, MD passed away Thursday March 9, 2017 at his home.

Born June 5, 1925 in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of the late John G. and Eva A. Yarnell Reynolds.

He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth “Betsy” Reynolds in 2014.

He was a 1943 graduate of Allegany High School in Cumberland, MD.

He served in the United States Marine Corps during WWII.

He retired from CSX Railroad in 1985.

He was a member of the Williamsport United Methodist Church where he served with the Methodist Men, a member of the Western Maryland Old Timers, volunteered at Washington County Hospital for over 20 years and bowled in the Senior Citizens Bowling League and the Railroad Bowling League.

John is survived by 3 daughters Toni L. Reynolds of Williamsport, MD, Peggy S. Reynolds of Mechanicsville, VA and Jonna L. Vinci and her husband Brian of Hagerstown, MD, 6 grandchildren Cristina, Carie, Hannah, John Michael, Justin and Jack, 4 great grandchildren Colton, Tucker, Jaxton and Cole, a brother George Reynolds and his wife Mary of Cumberland, MD and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter Samantha Rae Kelly, 2 sisters and 1 brother.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Monday March 13, 2017 from 6:00-8:00pm.  For the convenience of family and friends, the funeral home will open Monday at 9:00am.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday March 14, 2017 at 3:00pm with Rev. Susan Boehl officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport, MD.
