Joseph Russell Stotler

Fairplay, MD – Joseph Russell Stotler, 83, of Fairplay, MD passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Fahrney Keedy Nursing Home Boonsboro, MD.

He was born on November 14, 1933 in Keedysville, MD to the late Charles Lauren and Anna Mary Rudisill Stotler.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley May Bovey Stotler on July 21, 2015.

He was employed as a Truck Driver with the Washington County Roads Department until his retirement. He farmed for many years prior to going to work for the County.

He loved fishing, hunting, yardsaling, and telling stories.

He was of the Protestant Faith.

Joseph was survived by his stepdaughters Tammy Hageman and her husband Danny of Boonsboro, MD; Cindy Williams of Boonsboro, MD; stepsons Daniel Pike of Frederick, MD; Ricky Pike of Williamsport, MD and David Pike of Williamsport, MD; sisters Audrey Lowery of Pierpont, OH and Betty Flook of Sharpsburg, MD; brothers William Stotler of Boonsboro, MD; Howard Stotler of Keedysville, MD; Harold Stotler of Hagerstown, MD and Clyde Stotler of Hagerstown, MD; 11 step grandchildren; 14 step great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by a step great granddaughter, sisters Doris Rutherford, Loraine Hargett and Marie Stotler and brothers Charles Stotler, Richard Stotler, Edgar Stotler, Robert Stotler and George Stotler.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open after 1:00 pm on Thursday for the convenience of family and friends.

Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Ernest E. Witmer officiating.
