Hagerstown, MD – Lawrence William “Junie” Barton, Jr., 79, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at his home.
He was born on July 6, 1938 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Lawrence W. and Hazel Marie Hawbaker Barton.
He was employed by Allied Van Lines Martin Storage Company of Hagerstown, MD for 33 years until retiring in 2000.
Junie was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He attended Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church Hagerstown, MD.
He was a member of Amvets Post #1 Frederick, MD and was previously a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #212 Hagerstown, MD.
He was an avid Baltimore Oriole Fan and New York Giants Fan. He also had a passion for horse racing.
Junie dearly loved his family.
He is survived by his wife Esther Lee Ludy Barton whom he married December 10, 1960; daughter Kimberly Hall and her husband Todd of Hagerstown, MD; daughter Cindy Breeden and her significant other Robert Kursey, Sr. of Hagerstown, MD; daughter Toni Humphries and her significant other Jackie Socks, Jr. of Hagerstown, MD; sister Helen Stonebreaker of Clear Spring, MD; sister Darlene Swales of Hagerstown, MD; brother Charles Barton of Hagerstown, MD; brother Robert Barton of Hagerstown, MD; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson.
He was predeceased by six sisters Faye St. Clair, Sarah Jane Barton, Dorothy Jolliffee, Jean Jenkins, Peggy Barton, and Alda Jenkins and one brother Clyde Barton.
The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Wednesday for the convenience of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 11:00 am with Rev. Kibreab Gudeta officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park Hagerstown, MD.
