Lillie Ruth Schofill Coe

Lillie Ruth Schofill Coe, originally from Fort Valley, GA, passed away
at Homewood Nursing Center on March 22, 2017 at the age of 91. Ruth
was a woman of great spirit and a rare inner strength who believed
that all things were possible through hard work and God's grace. She
had an exceptionally nurturing nature and was never happier than when
she had a baby in her arms. She enjoyed entertaining her many friends
and was always a warm and welcoming hostess. She loved sewing,
gardening, singing and dancing and had a deep appreciation for all
things beautiful. When she saw injustice she was not one to stay quiet
about it, but always spoke her mind. She reached out to help every
sick or elderly relative and neighbor who crossed her path and never
refused a request for assistance if it was in her power to grant - no
matter how much effort or time commitment it might require on her
part. God never had a more faithful servant than Ruth Coe, and she
will be very greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her devoted
husband of 70 years, George Turner Coe. She is survived by her four
children, her four grandchildren, and her one great-grandchild. A
memorial service will be held Sunday, April 2, 2017 at 3:30 PM with
Rev Jeffrey Schull officiating at Homewood Retirement Center, 16505
Virginia Av, Williamsport, MD 21795. Anyone wishing to wear pink at
