Lowery Eugene "Gene" Farley

Williamsport, Maryland- Lowery Eugene “Gene” Farley, 87 of Williamsport, MD passed away on Friday November 10, 2017 at his home.

Born April 5, 1930 in Herndon, WV, he was the son of the late Benjamin C. and Maude E. Lusk Farley.

He was a 1947 graduate of Matoaka High School near Princeton, WV and served in the United States Army during Korea.

He retired as a supervisor with C&P Telephone/ AT&T in 1992 after over 40 years.  After retirement, he worked at Staples in Hagerstown, MD.

Gene was a member of Martinsburg Primitive Baptist Church in Martinsburg, WV where he served as Deacon. He was a clerk with Ketoction Association for over 40 years.  He was an honorary life member of American Legion Post #202 Williamsport, MD and was a Past Commander, life member of Amvets Post #10 Hagerstown, MD, life member of the Williamsport Lions Club where he was a recipient of the Melvin Jones Award, the President’s Award and was the first person to be elected President 2 times.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years Margie E. Farley, a daughter Debra Johnson of Shenandoah Junction, WV, 2 sons Larry Farley of Hagerstown, MD and Billy Farley of Williamsport, MD, 4 grandchildren Dayna Elliott of Kearneysville, WV, Toby Johnson of Inwood, WV, Joshua Farley of Fairplay, MD, Jake Farley of Hagerstown, MD and 5 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by a son Gary Farley, 2 sisters Ramona Godfrey and Alice Dillon and 2 brothers Hobart Farley and Ben C. Farley, Jr.

The family will receive friends on Monday November 13, 2017 from 6:00-8:00pm at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD 21795.  For the convenience of family and friends, the funeral home will open Monday at 1:00pm.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 14, 2017 at 11:00am at the funeral home with Elder Gary Utz and Elder John Nichols officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport, MD
