Maryann Martin Hurd

Clear Spring, MD – Maryann Martin Hurd, 85, of Clear Spring, MD and formerly of Pinesburg, MD passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Meritus Medical Center Hagerstown, MD.

She was born on February 14, 1932 in Pinesburg, MD to the late Elmer R. and Elizabeth I. Staley Shank.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall E. Hurd in 2006.

She was a 1949 graduate of Williamsport High School Williamsport, MD.  She was also a graduate of Columbia Business College of Hagerstown, MD.

She was employed as a Secretary with Teamsters Local Union #992 Hagerstown, MD until her retirement.

Maryann was a member of St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church Williamsport, MD.

She was also a member of Pinesburg Good Neighbor Club, Joseph C. Herbert Post #222 American Legion Auxiliary Clear Spring, MD.

Maryann is survived by her daughter Elizabeth A. Imes of Big Pool, MD; daughter Milbrey A. McAfee and her husband Roger of Clear Spring, MD; loving grandchildren Sara R. Poole of Fairplay, MD and Colby M. Imes of Clear Spring, MD; loving great grandchildren Richie, Kayla, Traven, Tehya and Lucas; son in law Irvin Imes of Clear Spring, MD.

She was predeceased by a granddaughter Erin McAfee and a brother Punch Shank.

There will be no viewing.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church 32 E. Potomac St. Williamsport, MD on Monday, July 3, 2017 at 10:00 am with Rev. Father John Jicha celebrant.  Interment will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery Clear Spring, MD.
