Big Pool, MD – Michael James Brown, 62, of Big Pool, MD passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at his home.

 

He was born on April 4, 1955 in Almont, MI. He was the son of Glenn and Carolyn Hill of Attica, MI.

 

He was a 1974 graduate of Dryden High School Dryden, MI.

 

He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

 

He retired from RCI in 1997 where he worked as a Correctional Officer. He worked 19 years with the United States Postal Service where he was a letter carrier in Frederick, MD, a Supervisor in Hagerstown, MD and retired as the Postmaster from Williamsport Post Office in June on 2017.

 

He coached Girls Youth and High School Soccer for 12 years in Clear Spring and was an avid Baltimore Ravens and Washington Capitals Fan.

 

He enjoyed landscaping and yardwork.

 

Michael was a member of the Dryden Methodist Church Dryden, MI and he attended St. John’s UCC Clear Spring, MD. 

 

Besides his parents he is survived by his wife of 41 years Sheila K. Scott Brown of Big Pool, MD; foster mother Joan Moses of Clifford, MI; daughter Dr. Tara E. Brown of San Antonia, TX; sister Jeanne Getz of North Augusta, SC; brother David Hill of Attica, MI; brother Scott Hill of Fort Gratiot, MI; brother Mark Hill of Marysville, MI; brother Tim Hill of Dryden, MI; brother Lynn Hill of Burton, MI; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 

He was predeceased by his foster father Hal Moses.

 

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Thursday for the convenience of family and friends.

 

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Charles Mackley officiating.  Interment will be in Little Rose Hill Cemetery Clear Spring, Maryland.  Military honors will be provided by Morris Frock Post #42 American Legion Hagerstown, MD.
