Mona Frances Stevens

Broomfield, CO – Mona Frances Stevens, 88, of Broomfield, CO and formerly of Williamsport, MD passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Sunrise at Flatirons.

Mona was born on November 18, 1929 in Williamsport, MD to the late Arley Roosevelt, Sr. and Martha Frances Anderson Crist.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Roy Stevens, Jr. in 1998.

Following her high school graduation she went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Education and spent her career as a teacher in the high school system. She previously worked for Fairchild Aircraft as a timekeeper. Mona ended her teaching career when her husband had a stroke.  She continued to care for him until his passing. She had also taken care of her mother as she aged.

Mona attended Rehoboth United Methodist Church for many years and had volunteered in their food bank ministry as well as volunteering for Habitat for Humanity to help build houses. 

She had been very athletic as a young lady and enjoyed basketball and bowling over the years and had remained very active in her fitness club doing both Zumba and Yoga.

She is survived by her son Randy Stevens of Lafayette, CO and her brothers Arley R. “Bucky” Crist, Jr. and his wife Irene of Williamsport, MD and Stephen L. Crist and his wife Joni of Big Pool, MD.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Tuesday for the convenience of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 11:00 with Rev. Michael Bennett officiating.  Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD.
