Fairplay, MD – Patricia Ann Hays, 79, of Fairplay, MD passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Williamsport Retirement Village Williamsport, MD.

 

She was born on November 1, 1937 in Washington County, Maryland to Evelyn Eloise Jones Byers of Williamsport, MD and the late Wallace Woodrow Byers.

 

She was a 1955 graduate of Williamsport High School Williamsport, MD.

 

She was employed by Sears of Hagerstown, MD for 20 years until her retirement. She was previously employed by Doubleday Printing in Smithsburg, MD.

 

She was a member of Manor Church of the Brethren and served as a Deacon and was a Past Sunday School Secretary.

 

Patricia was a member of Williamsport Volunteer Fire & EMS, previously a member of Williamsport Ambulance Service, member of Community Volunteer Fire Co. Inc. of District 12 Past Treasurer of the Ladies Auxiliary, VFW (WD Byron Post #1936) Auxiliary Past Treasurer, Red Feather Council #59 Degree of Pocahontas Williamsport, MD, Potomac Fish & Game Club Ladies Auxiliary, Manor Senior Citizens Club currently serving as Treasurer.

 

Besides her mother she is survived by her husband of 60 years Ronald F. “Ron” Hays; daughter Diana L. Hose and her husband Denny of Falling Waters, WV; daughter Brenda K. Clipp and her husband Kevin of Fairplay, MD; son R. David Hays and his wife Teresa of Boonsboro, MD; sister Dolly McKimmy of Williamsport, MD; sister Mary Carter of Williamsport, MD; brother Jack Byers of Williamsport, MD; brother Mick Byers of Williamsport, MD; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and 1 Aunt.

 

She was predeceased by two sisters Emma Divelbiss and Dorothy Staley and one brother John Byers.

 

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Monday, August 28, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Monday for the convenience of family and friends.

 

Funeral services will be held at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 11:00 am with Rev. Joy Zepp officiating.  Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park Hagerstown, MD.
