Phyllis Leona Kopp

Phyllis Leona Kopp, 91, of Hagerstown, Md. and formerly of Tilghmanton, Md., passed away Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, at Williamsport (Md.) Retirement Village.

Born July 31, 1925, in Tilghmanton, she was the daughter of Paul Edgar Smith and Mary Alice Smith Cline.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lavere Kopp, in 1995.

She was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church in Falling Waters, W.Va.

Phyllis was a homemaker, and owned and operated Locust Point Tavern in Hagerstown, Md., for 10 years with her husband, Charles.

She enjoyed camping, traveling with Charles in their motorhome covering 48 states, playing bingo and was an avid Denver Broncos fan.

She is survived by four daughters, Bonnie L. Thomas, Connie L. Bishop and husband, Bill, Judy A. Hamsher and husband, John, all of Hagerstown, and Vickie S. Mackison and husband, Bill, of Greensburg, Pa.; a son, Jerry W. Kopp and wife, Kathy, of Falling Waters; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

In addition to her husband, Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Kathie L. Brown and Karen K. Kopp; two sisters, Peggy L. Cline and Juanita I. Smith; two brothers, Robert H. Smith and Raymond E. Smith; a granddaughter, Diane R. Stuver; and a son-in-law, Kenny W. Thomas Jr.

The family will receive friends Monday, Oct. 24, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, MD 21795. For the convenience of family and friends, the funeral home will open Monday at 1 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Kibreab Gudeta officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport.
