Phyllis Jane Snyder

Clear Spring, MD- Phyllis Jane Snyder 86 of Clear Spring, MD went to be with the Lord on Friday October 7, 2016 at Julia Manor Nursing Home in Hagerstown, MD.

Born June 19, 1930 in Clear Spring, MD, she was the daughter of the late Stanley Luther and Nora Viola Forsyth Moore.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years Harry Albert Snyder in 1991.

She was a 1948 graduate of Clear Spring High School.

Phyllis was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Temple where she was in the Rock of Ages Sunday School class and a member of the Jolly Sixty Group.  She also volunteered with The American Red Cross and Homewood Retirement Center.

She is survived by a daughter Diane Caprio and her husband George of Hagerstown, MD and a son Harry A. Snyder II and his wife Marsha of Yorktown, VA, 2 sisters Betty Kratz of Clear Spring, MD and Anna Kernan of Bethleham, PA, 5 grandchildren Harry A. Snyder III, Michelle Wickless, Holly Hall, Aaron R. Snyder, and Carrie Snyder and 7 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters Joyce McKee and Rayetta Moore and a brother Hilliard “Shorty” Moore.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Tuesday October 11, 2016 from 6:00-8:00pm.  For the convenience of family and friends, the funeral home will open Tuesday at 3:00pm. 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday October 12, 2016 at 10:00am at Emmanuel Baptist Temple in Hagerstown, MD with Pastor Ed Hampton officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Clear Spring, MD.
