Robert Paul "Pete" Moats

Robert Paul “Pete” Moats, 80, of Williamsport, Md., passed away Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at his home.

Born July 28, 1937, in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of the late Howard William and Margaret Catherine King Moats.

He was a 1955 graduate of Hagerstown High School.

He was employed by Redland Brick Cushwa Plant in Williamsport for 43 years, retiring in 1999.

Pete attended Williamsport United Methodist Church.

He was a member of Conococheague IORM Tribe 84 in Williamsport, Loyal Order of Moose in Martinsburg, W.Va., and FO Eagles Aerie 694 in Hagerstown.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Scott Moats, whom he married Nov. 24, 1956; daughter, Patricia Frey and her husband, Gary, of Mount Airy, Md.; sister, Edith Mary Miller and her husband, Jeff; sister, Shirley Stottlemyer; brother, Theodore Moats; brother, Joe Moats and his wife, Margaret; grandchildren, Garrison Frey and his wife, Keirstyn, Brendan and his wife, Brittany, Olga, Alina and Andrew; and niece, Linda Shirley.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Moats.

Services and burial will be private.
