Wayne Vincent Jackson

Wayne Vincent Jackson, Sifu Wayne, went home to be with the lord on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at Waynesboro Hospital, in Waynesboro, PA. He was 62 years old.

He was born and raised in Hagerstown, Maryland, and lived most of his life in Williamsport, MD.

He graduated from Williamsport High School, class of 1972.

He excelled in sports, playing basketball, football, and track and field. He began his lifelong love for martial arts in high school. He practiced many forms of martial arts including Wing Chung, Kung Fu, Kickboxing, Jeet Kune Do, and many others. He self-educated himself in these different fighting styles. He also had his own martial arts school. He later practiced under Randy Williams and was a trainer and teacher in the Close Range Combat academy.

He worked for Kraft-Nabisco in Williamsport, MD for 32 years as a truck driver.

But Wayne’s first love was his Lord and Savior. He was raised and brought up as young boy, with his family, at Second Christian Church. Later, he was a faithful servant and member at Broadfording Bible Brethren Church. He served in the bus ministry, sang on the choir, and taught Sunday school.  

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Norma Lee Jackson, his 3 children, Resa Dion Agfalvi of Hagerstown, Spencer Wayne Jackson of Hagerstown, and Laura Lee Moxley of Waynesboro, 7 grandchildren, Olivia, Keshawn, Jaden, Samuel, Damari, Quentin, and Violet, along with his parents, James and Isabelle Jackson of Fayetteville, NC, his siblings Marvin James Jackson of Eva Beach, Hawaii, Melissa Lee Rollizo of Fayetteville, NC, and Lloyd Dewitt Jackson of Fayetteville, NC. He had many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. 

 

He was preceded in death by his brothers Steven Eugene Jackson and Anthony Dean Jackson Sr. 

 

Services will be held on Friday, February 10, at Broadfording Bible Brethren Church, 13523 Broadfording Church Rd, Hagerstown, MD 21740. Family and friends will be received at 9:00am - 10:00am. The memorial service will begin at 10:00am. Followed by a graveside gathering at Cedar Lawn, 17636 W Washington St, Hagerstown, MD 21740. We will return to Broadfording Church for a reception to remember Wayne.
