Adaline E. Gruber

Williamsport, MD – Adaline E. Gruber, 97, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, May 26, 2017 at Coffman Nursing Home Hagerstown, MD.

She was born on November 13, 1919 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Ross and Hazel Maria Spigler Weller.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Richard Henry Gruber on February 13, 1999.

She was a 1937 graduate of Williamsport High School Williamsport, MD.

Adaline was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a Rural Mail Carrier for 10 years and enjoyed the people on her route.

She was a lifelong member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Williamsport, MD where she taught Sunday School and Bible Studies for 20 years. 

She and Richard lived a most simple life, enjoying gardening and their life together.

She is survived by one son Richard R. Gruber and his wife Lynne of Hagerstown, MD; two grandchildren Richard Gruber and Kelly Gruber Dohn and husband Liam; two great grandchildren Mason and Addison Dohn.

She was predeceased by a brother Wayne Weller.

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11:00 am with Pastor Kim Nunberg officiating.  The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday from 10:00-11:00 am.  Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD.
