Albert Eugene "Gene" Mellott

Hagerstown, MD – Albert Eugene “Gene” Mellott, 76, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Julia Manor Health Care Hagerstown, MD.

He was born on September 27, 1941 in Williamsport, MD to the late Albert Luther and Ruth Irene Shafer Mellott.

He was most recently employed at Staples Distribution Center in Hagerstown until his retirement.

He was of the Brethren Faith.

Gene is survived by his stepson Billy Starliper of Clear Spring, MD; sister Devona I. Kerns of Hagerstown, MD; several step grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister Lois A. Baker and her husband Donald, an infant brother, an infant sister, and a brother in law Philip R. Kerns.

Funeral services will be held at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Ernest E. Witmer officiating.  Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD.  The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the funeral service on Monday from 1:00-2:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Monday for the convenience of family and friends.
