Williamsport, MD – Alvey Theodore Hose, Sr., 90, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Meritus Medical Center Hagerstown, MD.
He was born on December 16, 1927 in Williamsport, MD to the late Earl Franklin and Hazel Irene Sharer Hose.
He was employed as a Supervisor with Garden State Tanning (W.D. Byron) until his retirement in 1995.
Alvey was a veteran of the U.S. Marines serving during the Korean War.
He loved taking care of his wife Betty.
Alvey most recently gave himself to the Lord.
Alvey enjoyed spending time with his family and especially looked forward to Sunday dinners.
He is survived by his wife Betty Romaine Cottrill Hose whom he married on October 19, 1963; daughter Mary “Rosie” Eaton and her husband Stanley of Williamsport, MD; daughter Debbie J. Stansberry and her husband Greg of Greencastle, PA; daughter Michele L. Danner and her fiance’ Jimmy Bartley of Martinsburg, WV; son Alvey T. Hose, Jr. and his wife Kelly of Hagerstown, MD; son Charles “Frank” Hose of Williamsport, MD; brother Paul Hose of Clear Spring, MD; brother Harry Hose of Halfway, MD; grandchildren Amber Eaton, Justin Eaton (Annette), Brandon Benner, Christopher Benner, Benjamin Benner, Brittany Hose, Morgan Hose, Destiny Danner, Joshua Danner; 18 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a grandson Devin D. Hose, two sisters Stella Sacrey and Henrietta Weller, and two brothers Sylvester Hose and Clyde Hose.
The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Thursday for the convenience of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Ken Harris officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD. Military honors will be provided by Joint Veterans Council of Washington County and Marine Corps League of Hagerstown, MD.
