Arthur Franklin Obituary

Williamsport, MD- Arthur Henry Franklin, 99, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Doey’s House Hagerstown, MD.

 

He was born on September 21, 1919 in Buffalo, NY to the late Charles S. and Arnetta Evers Franklin.

 

He was predeceased by his wife, Ann S. Strikol Franklin in 1990.

 

He served as a Staff Sgt. with the U.S. Army in the Counter Intelligence Corps.

 

Arthur was employed by the Soo Line Railroad as a Special Investigator in St. Paul, MN for 20 years until retiring.

 

He was of the Lutheran Faith.

 

Arthur was a life member of Disabled American Veterans.

 

He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

 

He is survived by his daughter Carol Mesheske and her husband Michael of Cross Junction, VA; two grandchildren Daniel Mesheske of Fairfax, VA and Christopher Mesheske of Cross Junction, VA.

 

He was preceded in death by two brothers Charles Franklin and Howard Franklin.

 

A memorial service will be held at Homewood Chapel 16505 Virginia Ave. Hagerstown, MD on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 10:30 am with Pastor Jeff Shull officiating.
