Downsville, Maryland-Betty Jane Crawford, 87 of Downsville, Maryland passed away on Friday September 27, 2019 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD.

 

Born in Hagerstown, MD on June 4, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Max Cecil and Mary Catherine Fryer Kershner.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband Irvin Monroe “Shorty” Crawford, Sr. in 1998.

 

She worked in housekeeping at the Clearview Nursing Home for over 35 years.  She also sold Avon products for many years.

 

She was a member of the Downsville Church of the Brethren.

 

Betty loved birds, butterflies, flowers angels and Kenny Rogers.  She also loved her family and anyone she ever met through life’s journey.

 

She is survived by 3 daughters Carolyn L. Plotner of Hagerstown, MD and Aletta J. Scott and Bonnie L. Cunningham both of Williamsport, MD, 7 sons Irvin M. Crawford, Jr. of Williamsport, MD, Irvin L. Kershner, Larry L. Crawford and Ralph E. Crawford all of Hagerstown, MD and David L. Crawford, Donald W. Crawford and Earl E. Crawford all of Downsville, MD, 18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

 

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Gloria J. Crawford, a son Timothy P. Crawford, 2 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, 3 brothers Max C. Kershner, Jr., Earl E. Kershner and Ralph E. Kershner, 6 sisters Mildred C. Kershner, Maxine Kershner, Connie J. Hammersla, Helen V. Harbaugh, Dorothy Ruck and Minnie M. Kershner and her loving dog Buddy.

 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday October 2, 2019 from 6:00-8:00pm at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD 21795.  For the convenience of family and friends the funeral home will open on Wednesday at 9:00am.

 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday October 3, 2019 at 2:00pm at the funeral home with Pastor Wilkie Nunn and Pastors John and Melissa Miller officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport, MD.
