Hagerstown, MD – Charles Edward “Ed” Socks, Sr., 60, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at his home.
He was born on June 8, 1959 in Camp LeJeune, NC to Phyllis Joan Smith Socks of Hagerstown, MD and the late Leo Woodrow.
Ed was a 1977 graduate of Clear Spring High School Clear Spring, MD.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
He worked as a Drywall Man for many years.
He was of the Baptist Faith.
Ed loved his family and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and drinking beer. He would go out of his way to help anyone. He loved going home to his bride of 43 years Cathy Socks.
Besides his mother and wife he is survived by his daughter Stacie Lee Bradley and her husband Ryland of Hagerstown, MD; son Charles Edward Socks, Jr. and his wife April of Berkeley Springs, WV; his loving grandchildren Austin, Kaitlyn, Destiny, Brady, Alexander, Dominic, and Robert; mother and father in law Estalene and Robert Cromis of Hagerstown, MD; sister Kelly Shank and her husband Kevin of Hagerstown, MD; brother David Socks and his wife Kim of Hagerstown, MD; sister in law Shirley Kershner of Hagerstown, MD; sister in law Bobbi “Buttskull” Vidas of Hagerstown, MD; brother in law Ricky Hull of Big Cove Tannery, PA; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Wednesday for the convenience of family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD on Friday, July 5, 2019 at 10:00 am with Rev. Robert V. Robinson and Pastor Shane Wilt officiating.
Military honors will be provided by Morris Frock American Legion Post #42 Hagerstown, MD.
