Sharpsburg, MD – Charles Preston Speaker, 93, of Sharpsburg, MD passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018 at his home in his sleep.
He was born in Hagerstown, MD on July 12, 1924. He was the son of the late Walter Preston and Geralein Launa Mose Speaker.
He retired from Maryland Ribbon in 1987 after many years of service.
He was a Charter member of the Sharpsburg Vol. Fire Company and also a member of SAL Antietam Squadron #236.
Charles is survived by three nephews, Walter Eugene Rowe of Sharpsburg, MD; Victor Rowe of Hagerstown, MD and Christopher Rowe of Sharpsburg, MD; great nephew Sean Rowe and his wife Sandra of Boonsboro, MD; great niece Alaina Cunningham-Rowe of Sharpsburg, MD.
He was predeceased by one sister Lorraine Launa Rowe and one brother William Leon Speaker.
There will be no viewing and services will be private.
