D. Calvin Bowers

Downsville, MD – D. Calvin Bowers, 92, of Downsville, MD passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born on August 24, 1926 in Tilghmanton, MD to the late David Perrin and Hattie Lee Skelton Bowers.

He was a 1944 graduate of Williamsport High School Williamsport, MD.

Calvin owned and operated Bowers Farms in Downsville for 75 years and also was previously employed at Pangborn Corp. in Hagerstown, MD for 26 ½ years.

He was of the Protestant Faith.

He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and Conococheague Tribe #84 IORM of Williamsport, MD.

Calving enjoyed dancing on Saturday nights.

He is survived by his wife Helen Mae Walters Bowers of Downsville, MD; daughter Pamela Rinehart and her husband Richard of Hagerstown, MD; daughter Amy Stotler and her husband Larry of Hagerstown, MD; son Phil Bowers and his wife Anna of Downsville, MD; grandchildren Christopher, Phillip “Harvey”, Landon, Wyatt “Charlie Brown”, Angel, Amber, Kelen, and Autumn; 9 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son David A. Bowers and three sisters Martha Martin, Evelyn Hammond, and Hilda Cunningham.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open after 12:00 (noon) on Thursday for the convenience of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Friday, December 21, 2018 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Ernest E. Witmer officiating.  Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park Hagerstown, MD.
