Dale Findley Obituary

Clear Spring, MD – Dale Edward Findley, 67, of Clear Spring, MD passed away suddenly on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Meritus Medical Center Hagerstown, MD.

 

He was born on December 2, 1951 in Newport, RI to the late Archie Matthew Jr. and Marilyn Hickenbottom Findley.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Kay Shilling Findley on August 16, 2014.

 

He was a 1969 graduate of North Hagerstown High School Hagerstown, MD and received his Associate’s Degree from Hagerstown Community College.

 

Dale was employed for 29 years at Mack Trucks Inc. of Hagerstown, MD. Most recently prior to his death he was employed by Bowers Marine in Hagerstown, MD.

 

He was a member of Maugansville Bible Brethren Church Maugansville, MD where he used his creative talents for the service of the church.

 

He was a member of the Nation’s Capital Norton Owner’s, he was a Mason, member of the Williamsport Moose Lodge, and APA Pool League.

 

Dale enjoyed woodworking, working on motorcycles and cars, and watching superhero movies with his granddaughter.

 

He is survived by his fiancee’ Jen Mellott of Clear Spring, MD;twin daughters Kathy of Chesapeake Beach, MD; Kristi of Annapolis, MD; stepdaughter Chrissy Kifer and her husband Greg of Greencastle, PA; sister Joyce A. Bussard of Hagerstown, MD; brother Gary A. Findley of Nicktown, PA; brother Archie M. Findley, III of Hagerstown, MD; brother Jim C. Findley of Williamsport, MD; grandchildren Allex, Halie, Emma, Matthew, Caroline, and Rachel.

 

He was predeceased by a brother John W. Findley.

 

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Thursday for the convenience of family and friends.

 

A memorial service will be held at Maugansville Bible Brethren Church on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 11:00 am with Pastor Michael Carey officiating.  Interment will be private.
