Dallas Eichelberger Obituary

Fairplay, MD – Dallas Lee “Joe” Eichelberger, 72, of Fairplay, MD passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at his home.

 

He was born on October 30, 1945 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Dallas Eugene and Martha Cordelia Kretzer Mose Eichelberger.

 

He was a 1963 graduate of Boonsboro High School Boonsboro, MD.

 

Joe was employed by East Alcoa until retiring in 2005.

 

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

 

He was a member of Burnside Church of God Sharpsburg, MD.

 

He was also a member of Western Maryland Sportman’s Club, The Little Club, and IORM Tribe #84 Williamsport, MD.

 

He was a lifetime member of Fairplay Fire Department Fairplay, MD.

 

Joe previously coached at Sharpsburg Little League and Halfway Little League.  He also umpired in Washington County for many years.

 

He loved fishing, crabbing, and mushroom hunting.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Jody M. Eichelberger; daughter Andrea Yates and her husband Travis of Hagerstown, MD; son Albin Eichelberger and his wife Michelle of Clear Spring, MD; grandchildren Colby and his girlfriend Ashley who was one of Joe’s caregivers, Amanda, Brittany, Ronnie, Lauren, Summyr, Brailey, Katelynn, and Wyatt; great grandchildren Hayden and Alexis; sister Colleen Bowers and her husband Marvin of Sharpsburg, MD; brother Denny Eichelberger and his wife Kathy of Sharpsburg, MD; several nieces and nephews.

 

There will be no viewing.

 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Western Maryland Sportsman's Club 6504 Dam #4 Rd. Sharpsburg, MD with Rev. Ernest E. Witmer officiating.
