Dexter Maurice Evans, Sr.

Hagerstown, MD – Dexter Maurice Evans, Sr., 77, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Monday, October 30, 2017 at Meritus Medical Center Hagerstown, MD.

He was born on June 1, 1940 in Randolph County, Alabama to the late James Troy Evans and W. Louise Scott Brooks.

He was employed by General Motors Corporation until his retirement in 2005.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of the UAW Local #1590 Martinsburg, WV.

He was a Nascar fan and was a big Richard Petty and Jeff Gordon fan.

He loved deep sea fishing.

His number one priority was his loving family.

Dexter is survived by his wife of 55 years N. Elaine McDaniel Evans; daughter Maurisa L. Barnes and her husband Randy of Hagerstown, MD; son Dexter M. Evans, Jr. and his wife Holly of Maugansville, MD; his loving grandchildren Drew, Jordan, and Paige; his loving great grandchildren Izabella and Scarlett; his beloved dog Otis; sister Becky St. Clair of Griffin, GA; brother Rodney Evans and his wife Ginger of Griffin, GA; brother Jimmy Evans and his wife Cathy of Thomaston, GA; and his mother in law Ruth H. Bearden.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Friday, November 3, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Friday for the convenience of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 10:00 am with Rev. Ernest E. Witmer officiating.  Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park Hagerstown, MD.
