Donald Purdham Obituary

Hagerstown, Maryland-Donald Isaac Purdham, 85 of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Tuesday November 20, 2018 at his home.

 

Born in Hagerstown, MD on April 1, 1933, he was the son of the late Isaac Newton and Elsie Louise Shindle Purdham.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife Lola Marlene Purdham in 2013.

 

He was a 1951 graduate of Hagerstown High School.

 

Donald Served in the US Army and was a member of American Legion Post #202 Williamsport, MD.

 

He was a truck driver for Antietam Paper Company and later managed the Baltimore Street Carwash in Hagerstown, MD.

 

Donald is survived by a daughter Lola D. Cline of Williamsport, MD, a son Robert A. Pennington of Hagerstown, MD, a daughter Claudia F. Webster and her husband Wayne of Hagerstown, MD, a daughter Judie V. Needy and her husband Wade of Hagerstown, MD, 3 brothers Elmer Purdham, Ken Purdham and Ralph Purdham, 2 sisters Shirley Smith and Dorothy Hyle, sister in laws Linda Purdham, Loretta Purdham and Gail Kirby and her husband Ronnie, 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

 

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter Kayla M. Neff, a great grandson Joseph D. Hamilton and 2 brothers Mert Purdham and Arch Purdham.

 

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD 21795 on Monday November 26, 2018 from 6:00-8:00pm.  For the convenience of family and friends, the funeral home will open Monday at noon.

 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 27, 2018 at 11:00am at the funeral home with Rev. Ernest E. Witmer officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport, MD.  Full military honors will be provided by Joint Veterans Council of Washington County and the Marine Corps League of Hagerstown, MD.

 

Memorial donations may be made to American Legion Post #202, 400 American Legion Drive Williamsport, MD 21795.
