Williamsport, MD – Doris Irene Gordon, 83, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Ravenwood Nursing Home Hagerstown, MD.
She was born on June 4, 1934 in Taylor’s Landing, Maryland to the late Edward Ross and Helen Irene Kretzer Miller.
She was a 1952 graduate of Williamsport High School Williamsport, MD.
Doris was employed by W.D. Byron Tannery Williamsport, MD, Rose Hill Cemetery Hagerstown, MD, BFI, Glessner Alarm and Protective Services, and most recently of Citicorp of Hagerstown, MD until her retirement in 1999.
She was a lifelong member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Williamsport, MD. She was also a member of the Church Council and the Monday Morning Counters.
Doris was a member of the Red Feather Council #59 Degree of Pocahontas Williamsport, MD; Ruth Rebekah Lodge Williamsport, MD; and Southside Senior Citizen Bowling League.
She is survived by her husband Robert J. “Bob” Gordon whom she married on January 4, 1964; son Steven E. Gordon of Williamsport, MD; son Donald D. Gordon of Mercersburg, PA; sister Patricia I. Shadrach of Williamsport, MD; sister Barbara L. Nally of Hagerstown, MD; sister E. Bernadine Diehl of Pinesburg, MD; brother Harold E. Miller of Hagerstown, MD; brother Robert I. Miller of Hagerstown, MD; 5 grandchildren Amanda, Jessica, Steven Kerston, Krista, and Tory; many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
She was predeceased by two sisters Helen Marie Clipp and Linda Jean Koontz and two brothers Edward R. Miller, Jr. and Charles K. Miller.
The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Thursday for the convenience of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Williamsport, MD on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 11:00 am with Rev. Kimberly Nunberg officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park Hagerstown, MD.
