Doris June Shank

Williamsport, MD – Doris June Shank, 89, of Williamsport, MD and formerly of Cedar Ridge Road passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the Williamsport Retirement Village.

She was born on May 24, 1927 in Pinesburg, MD to the late Ivan McAllister and Susie Leigh Holland.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hollyday B. Shank in 1986.

She was a 1944 graduate of Williamsport High School and served as Class President.

She was employed by Hagerstown Housing Authority for 25 years as a Secretary until retiring in 1997. She was previously employed at Miller’s Furniture in Hagerstown, MD.

She volunteered with the American Red Cross Blood Mobile.

Doris was a member of St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church Williamsport, MD.

She was also a member of the Pinesburg Good Neighbor Club.

She is survived by her son Greg Shank of Williamsport, MD; son Rick Shank and his wife Cindy of Halfway, MD; granddaughter Michelle McCullough and her husband Chris of Fallston, MD; granddaughter Melissa Parker and her husband James of Leesburg, VA; grandson Jamie Nelson of Martinsburg, WV; grandson Michael Nelson of Hagerstown, MD; great grandchildren Rory, Connie, Lindsey, Ben and Jack; goddaughter Milbrey McAfee of Clear Spring, MD; brother Jack Holland of Williamsport, MD; brother Larry Holland of Elkton, MD; sister Nancy Carter of Hagerstown, MD; and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a daughter in law Beverly Shank, brother Ray Holland and sister Jean Shupp.

Funeral services will be held at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 11:00 am with Rev. Father John Jicha officiating.  The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the funeral service on Monday from 10:00-11:00 am.  Interment will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery Clear Spring, MD.
