Doris Lorraine Shatzer

Hagerstown, MD – Doris Lorraine Shatzer, 83, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Friday, June 14, 2019 at Doey’s House in Hagerstown, MD.

She was born on September 18, 1935 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Charles Henry Sr. and Josephine Elizabeth Riley Walling.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Robert Shatzer, Sr. in 1985.

She was employed by Fountainhead Country Club in Hagerstown, MD until her retirement.  She was previously employed by Sword’s Market and Dunkin Donuts in Hagerstown, MD.

She was a member of First Christian Church in Hagerstown, MD.

Doris is survived by her daughter Norma Taylor of Hagerstown, MD; son Charles R. Shatzer, Jr. of Hagerstown, MD; son Doug Shatzer, Sr. of Hagerstown, MD; son Paul Shatzer of Hagerstown, MD; sister Anna Mae Knight of Hagerstown, MD; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son Gary L. Shatzer, Sr.; grandson Gary L. Shatzer; sisters Josephine Divelbiss, Evelyn Billid, Betty Oberholtzer, and Ruth Myers; brothers Charles Walling, Jr., Harry Walling, John Walling, James Walling, and George Walling.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 from 2:00-4:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 1:00 pm on Tuesday for the convenience of family and friends.

Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Ernest E. Witmer officiating.
