Douglas Edward Giffin

Sharpsburg, Maryland- Douglas Edward Giffin, 59 of Sharpsburg, MD passed away on Wednesday June 27, 2018 at his home.

Born in Hagerstown, MD on June 22, 1959, he was the son of Doris Louise Thompson Giffin of Sharpsburg, MD and the late Larry Eugene Giffin.

Douglas was a member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church and attended various educational centers in the area including UCP, Easter Seals and Human Development.

In addition to his mother Doris, Douglas is survived by 2 brothers Luther E. Giffin and wife Vicki of Sharpsburg, MD and Lewis E. Giffin and his wife Debbie of Boonsboro, MD, 2 sisters Leslie M. Tracy and her husband Ronnie of Williamsport, MD and Laura J. Giffin of Hagerstown, MD, family friend Mark Smith, his friend and caretaker Richard Long of Fairplay, MD and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister Arvella R. Giffin.

Funeral services will be held on Monday July 2, 2018 at 11:00am at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church 17626 Bakersville Road Boonsboro, MD with Rev. Ronald A. Kreiensieck and Rev. Darrell L. Layman officiating.  The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church from 10:00am-11:00am.  Burial will follow in the adjoining Bakersville Cemetery.
