Eleanor Bergeman Obituary

Hagerstown, MD – Eleanor Bergeman, 92, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.

 

She was born on September 11, 1926 in Far Rockaway, NY to the late Joseph and Angelina Capozzi Masone.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo V. Bergeman.

 

Eleanor lived in Island Park, New York before moving to Hagerstown.  She was a graduate of Pennside High School Ocean Side, New York.

 

She was employed with Republic Aviation Farmingdale, New York for 15 years.

 

She was of the Catholic Faith.

 

Eleanor was a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #1029 Island Park, NY.

 

Her favorite pastime was bowling.  She was also an avid Professional Hockey Fan and her favorite team was the Washington Capitals.

 

She is survived by her son Lee F. Bergeman and his wife Catherine of Hagerstown, MD; granddaughter Danielle Lynn Hudak and her husband Michael; grandson Lee Garrett Bergeman and his fiancee’ Alicia; great grandchildren Sofia and Thomas Hudak.

 

She was predeceased by four brothers and two sisters.

 

A special thank you to Rhonda Kendall RN, Gretel, Tonja, Venita, Victoria and Christine who were like angels helping us through this difficult time.

 

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Ernest E. Witmer officiating.  Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD.  The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday from 1:00-2:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am for the convenience of family and friends.

 

The omission of flowers is requested, memorial donations may be made to:
