Sharpsburg, MD – Ethel Mae Clipp, 92, of Sharpsburg, MD went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, July 1, 2018.
She was born on July 19, 1925 in Sharpsburg, MD to the late Martin Luther and Minnie Golden Pearl Pierce Bussard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Wesley Clipp on December 11, 1957.
She was employed by Corning Glassworks in Greencastle, PA for 27 years until her retirement. Prior to Corning she was employed with Hagerstown Shoe Company and in her early years worked on the family farm.
Ethel was a charter member of Battlefield Bible Church Fairplay, MD. She served on the Church Council as the Financial Secretary.
She is survived by her sister Hazel M. Smith of Sharpsburg, MD; brother D. Glen Bussard of Smithsburg, MD; special niece and caregiver Wanda Kay Smith and many other nieces and nephews.
She was loved by all who knew her.
Ethel was predeceased by a sister Helen T. Poffenberger and two brothers J.W. “Bill” Bussard and M.C. “Chip” Bussard.
The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Thursday for the convenience of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Battlefield Bible Church Fairplay, MD on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 11:00 am with Rev. David Hays officiating. Interment will be in Mt. View Cemetery Sharpsburg, MD.
