Eugene Edward "Gene" Shank

Falling Waters, WV – Eugene Edward “Gene” Shank, 88, of Falling Waters, WV and formerly of Williamsport, MD passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Willow Tree Manor Charles Town, WV.

He was born on May 9, 1930 in Kimble-Page County, Virginia to the late Silas Thomas and Helen Christina Hilscher Shank.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jane Howell Shank on December 27, 2017 whom he married on August 18, 1950.

Gene owned and operated Shank’s Auto Body in Williamsport, MD.  He also was a School Bus Contractor for many years.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War.

He was of the Protestant Faith.

Gene was a member of Potomac Post #202 American Legion Williamsport, MD.

He is survived by his son Eugene E. Shank, Jr. and his wife Sharon of Williamsport, MD; son Kenneth L. Shank and his wife Tammy of Falling Waters, WV; brother William E. Shank of Hagerstown, MD; brother Robert S. Shank of Williamsport, MD; grandchildren Shaun Shank, Andrew Shank, and Krystle Shank.

He was predeceased by a son Dennis W. Shank; sister Jane E. Davis; and two brothers Jack E. Shank and Thomas H. Shank.

Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 11:00 am with Rev. Robert V. Robinson officiating.
