Martinsburg, WV – Gary Lee “Fox” Garrish, 66, of Martinsburg, WV and formerly of Pinesburg, MD passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at his home.
He was born on December 24, 1951 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Joseph Henry Garrish, Sr. and Dortha Virginia Jackson Smallwood.
He was a 1969 graduate of South Hagerstown High School Hagerstown, MD.
Gary was employed by Maryland Ribbon in Hagerstown, MD for 22 years until retiring. He was previously employed by Redland Brick Cushwa Plant in Williamsport, MD.
He was a veteran proudly serving in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
He attended St. John’s Lutheran Church Martinsburg, WV.
Gary was a past member for many years of Potomac Post #202 American Legion Williamsport, MD.
He volunteered with Berkeley County “Meals on Wheels”.
Gary enjoyed playing softball and bowling for many years.
He is survived by his wife Sharon whom he married October 1, 2011; daughter Angela and her husband Robert; daughter Denise and her husband Joe; son Lee and his wife Victoria; sister Brenda Garrish; brother Joe Garrish, Jr.; grandchildren Sara, Sarah, Timothy, and Matthew; step sisters Brenda, Karen, and Kathy; step brother Denny.
He was predeceased by his stepfather Glenn Smallwood.
Memorial service will be held at Osborne Funeral Home Williamsport, MD on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 3:00 pm with Pastor Matthew Day officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday from 2:00-3:00 pm. Military honors will be provided by Joint Veterans Council of Washington Council and Marine Corps League of Hagerstown, MD.
