Harry Keadle Obituary

Williamsport, MD – Harry Martin Keadle, 85, of Twin Oaks Williamsport, MD passed away on Monday, October 8, 2018 at Doey’s House Hagerstown, MD.

 

He was born on July 11, 1933 in Ellerton, MD to the late Orville Eugene and Edna Mae Routzahn Keadle.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Achsa Frances Keadle in 2016.

 

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend to everyone.  He never met a stranger. 

 

His greatest pleasure in life was his family.

 

Harry was a 1951 graduate of Hagerstown High School.

 

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

 

He was employed as a Lineman with C&P, Bell Atlantic, and Verizon for 43 years until his retirement.

 

He was of the Brethren Faith.

 

Harry was a previous member of the Potomac Fish & Game Club, Williamsport Country Club.  While he was working, he was a member of the Communications Workers of America.  Also, a previous member of Man to Man Prostate Cancer Support Group.

 

He was a member of BPOE Elks #378 of Hagerstown, MD, Conococheague Tribe #84 IORM, Retired Members CWA Local #2105, and Williamsport McDonald’s Breakfast Club.

 

He was a member of the Old Guard, the Honor Guard with the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment Guarding the President of the United States.

 

He is survived by his daughter Cynthia A. Eyler and her husband Larry of Williamsport, MD; daughter Julie A. Kemp and her husband Tim of Clear Spring, MD; son Martin Keadle and his wife Pam of Clear Spring, MD; grandchildren Branden Eyler, Seth Eyler and his girlfriend Cassandra Cunningham, and Mollie Kemp; step granddaughter Autumn Little; great granddaughter Macie Eyler; sister Vivian K. Hyde of Williamsport, MD; many nieces and nephews.

 

He was predeceased by three brothers Ross E. Routzahn, E. Richard Keadle, and P. Thomas Keadle, and a sister C. Elizabeth Burgan.

 

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Thursday for the convenience of family and friends.

Burial will be private.

 

The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for Harry, especially Twin Oak Assisted Living over the past few years.
