James Edward Artz

Boonsboro, MD – James Edward Artz, 87, of Boonsboro, MD passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 23, 2017.

He was born on July 21, 1930 in Downsville, Maryland to the late Joseph Carson Sr. and Minnie “Noni” Ridenour Artz.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie E. Clopper Artz in 1995.

He was a 1949 graduate of Williamsport High School Williamsport, MD.

He was employed by C.W. Wright Construction of Richmond, VA as a Foreman until retiring in 1998.  In his earlier years he was a dairy farmer.

He was a member of Downsville Christian Church Downsville, MD.

James is survived by his son James C. Artz and his wife Cynthia of Boonsboro, MD; son Randy L. Artz of Boonsboro, MD; son Jerry E. Artz and his wife Jennifer of Boonsboro, MD; granddaughter Ayesha E. Huntzberry and her husband Troy of Smithsburg, MD; granddaughter Megan A. Artz of Charleston, SC; granddaughter Erin E. Artz of Boonsboro, MD; grandson Tristan D. Artz of Boonsboro, MD;great grandchildren Faith, Landon, and Logan;sister Margaret Smith of Abington, PA; sister Barb Breichner of Hagerstown, MD; sister Bonnie Grenier of Swanzey, NH.

He was predeceased by a grandson Brandon Artz, granddaughter Saranda Artz,brothers Joe Boy Artz, Jr, Charles Irvin Artz and Robert Artz, sisters Helen Waddington, Faye Beam, Lucille Poffenberger, and Lupa Reddi.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Thursday for the convenience of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 11:00 am with Rev. Delancy L. Catlett officiating.  Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD.
