John Richard "Dick" Rase

Hagerstown, MD – John Richard “Dick” Rase, 86, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Doey’s House Hagerstown, MD.

He was born on May 12, 1932 in Eckhart, Maryland to the late Charles Gilbert and Catherine Margaret Carter Rase.

He was part of the class of 1950 at Beall High School Frostburg, MD.

He was employed by Kelly-Springfield Tire Company in Cumberland, MD for 38 years until retiring in 1985.

He was a member of the Maryland Army National Guard.

He was a member of St. James Brethren Church St. James, MD.

Dick was a member of Conococheague Tribe #84 IORM of Williamsport, MD.

In his early years he enjoyed hunting and gardening.

He is survived by his wife Althea Ann Adams Rase whom he married February 6, 1957 of Hagerstown, MD; sister Susie Blough of Cresaptown, MD; sister Kay Warden of Cresaptown, MD; sister Lois Troutman of Eckhart, MD; sister Linda Davis of Lavale, MD; brother Robert Rase of Frostburg, MD; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two sisters Jeannie Walsh and Mary Lou Ryan and one brother Thomas Rase.

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Brad Selan officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm on Friday.  The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Friday for the convenience of family and friends.
