Joyce June Taylor

Williamsport, Maryland- Joyce June Taylor, 82 of Williamsport, MD and formerly of Halfway, MD passed away on Friday July 20, 2018 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD.

Born December 4, 1935 in Phillipsburg, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Robert Elwood and Mabel Doris Oren Schooley.  She was preceded in death by her husband John Benjamin Taylor in 1986.

She was a graduate of Hagerstown High School class of 1954.  She worked for many years at the Ross Garment Company in Hagerstown, MD.

Joyce was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hagerstown, MD, a member of American Legion Post #202 Auxiliary, Red Feather Council #59 Degree of Pocahontas and Women of the Moose #2116 all in Williamsport, MD and the Amvets Post #10 Auxiliary in Hagerstown.  She managed the concession stand at the Halfway Little League for many years.

She is survived by a daughter Linda J. Thomas of Williamsport, MD, a son John B. Taylor II and wife Mary of Frederick, MD, a daughter Jodie A. Warrenfeltz and husband David, Jr. of Halfway, MD, a son Jeffrey A. Taylor and wife Susan of Smithsburg, MD, a sister Evelyn Yoder and brother Robert Schooley both of Hagerstown, MD, 8 grandchildren Daryl, Julee, John, Bradley, David III, Michael, Gabby and Madison, 11 great grandchildren Morgan, Dawson, Chloe, Raegan, John, Michael, Conner, Brayden, Summer, Lilah and Addison and her faithful companion Cooper.

There will be no viewing.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday July 25, 2018 at 11:00am at Covenant Life Church 1515 Dual Highway Hagerstown, MD 21740 with Pastor Tim Fisher and Pastor Randy Taylor officiating.  The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church from 10:00am-11:00am.

Burial will be private and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Nick Adenhart Memorial Fund C/O Fidelity Charitable, P.O. Box 770001 Cincinnati, OH 45277-0053.
