Larry James Straitiff, Sr.

Williamsport, MD – Larry James Straitiff, Sr., 69, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Doey’s House Hagerstown, MD.

He was born on October 3, 1949 in Williamsport, MD to the late Samuel David and Erma Jane Murray Straitiff.

He was a 1967 graduate of Williamsport High School Williamsport, MD.

Larry was employed by Certainteed Corporation Williamsport, MD as an Equipment Operator for 30 years until retiring in 2002.  He also served at one time as the President of the Union at Certainteed Corporation.

He was of the Methodist Faith.

He was a lifetime member of the Little Club in Hagerstown, MD.

Larry is survived by his wife of 49 years Alice F. Creager Straitiff; son Larry J. Straitiff, Jr. of Williamsport, MD; son Troy E. Straitiff of Williamsport, MD; grandsons Koty, Noah, and Aiden; great granddaughter Emma Mae; brothers Robert Murray, William Suffecool, and Ronald Suffecool; sisters Vera Dick and Vickie Knipe; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two sisters Mary Hardie and Ella Mae Kroboth.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Thursday for the convenience of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 11:00 am with Pastor Kevin Smoot and Pastor Tim Moffitt officiating.  Burial will be private.
