Waynesboro, PA – Lula Jane Pittman, 94, of Waynesboro, PA and formerly of Maugansville, MD passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Quincy Village Nursing Home Waynesboro, PA.
She was born on April 18, 1925 in Beaver Falls, PA Beaver, County to the late Joseph E. and Emma Rhodes Clear.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul G. Pittman, Sr. in 1987.
Lula was a 1943 graduate of New Brighton High School in New Brighton, PA. She also graduated from the Metropolitan Bible Institute in North Bergen, NJ in 1948.
She was previously employed by Corning Glass in Greencastle, PA.
She was a member of Gateway Church in Williamsport, MD. She also attended Calvary Temple in Williamsport, MD. For many years, she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. The highlight of her life was her trip to the Holy Land.
Lula loved spending time with her family and friends, she had friends across the generations.
She is survived by her son Paul G. Pittman, Jr. and his wife Ann of Hagerstown, MD; son David L. Pittman and his wife Shirley of Chambersburg, PA; former daughter in law Jamie McCabe; sister Ida M. Bird of Lakeland, FL; sister Karen Greiner of New Brighton, PA; 9 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son Thomas “Mark” Pittman, 7 brothers, and 2 sisters.
The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, June 13, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open after 1:00 pm on Thursday for the convenience of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Friday, June 14, 2019 at 11:00 am with Pastor Dale Cosden officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD.
