Melanie Kaetzel Obituary

Clear Spring, Maryland-Melanie Lee Kaetzel, 76 of Clear Spring, MD passed away on Thursday January 2, 2020 at Western Maryland Health System Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Frostburg, MD.

 

Born in Hagerstown, MD on April 23, 1943 she was the daughter of the late William Andrew and Bessie Jane Saunders Mills.

 

She was a 1961 graduate of South Hagerstown High School in Hagerstown, MD.

 

She worked as a receptionist at Washington County Hospital until her retirement.

 

She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Boonsboro, MD.

 

Melanie enjoyed knitting and crocheting and she knitted hats for the chemo patients at Washington County Hospital.

 

She is survived by her husband of 58 years David Max Kaetzel, Sr., 2 sons David M. Kaetzel, Jr. and his wife Annabelle of Gladewater, TX and Donald L. Kaetzel and his wife Rhonda of Mercersburg, PA, 2 brothers Richard Mills of Clear Spring, MD and William Mills of Hagerstown, MD, a sister Jane Schloltterbeck of Jessup, MD, 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

 

The family will receive friends on Sunday January 5, 2020 from 6:00-8:00pm at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD 21795.  For the convenience of family and friends the funeral home will open Sunday at 12 noon.

 

Funeral services will be held Monday January 6, 2020 at 11:00am at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church 18313 Lappans Rd. Boonsboro, MD 21713 with The Rev. Virginia Carr Celebrant.  Burial will follow at St. Mark’s Cemetery.

 

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association 225 N. Michigan Ave. FI.17 Chicago, IL 60601.
