Robert J. Long, Sr.

Boonsboro, MD – Robert J. Long, Sr., 78, of Boonsboro, MD passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Meritus Medical Center Hagerstown, MD.

He was born on January 20, 1939 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Joseph A. Sr. and Helena B. Davis Long.

He was a 1956 graduate of Hagerstown High School.

He was employed by M.P. Moller Organs of Hagerstown, MD for over 30 years until his retirement.

He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church Hagerstown, MD.

He was a member of Medairy Lodge #140 AF&AM Williamsport, MD.

Robert is survived by his wife of 58 years Betty J. Long; daughter Lana L. Shawley and her husband Bill Sr. of St. James, MD; son Robert “John” Long and his wife Lana of Williamsport, MD; grandson Bill Shawley, II and his wife Ashley of Hagerstown, MD; grandson Robert Shawley and his wife Lindsay of Williamsport, MD; granddaughter Kelli Long of Hagerstown, MD; great grandchildren Will, Shelby, Avery, Mabry and one on the way; sister Beverly LaPole of Hagerstown, MD; sister Patricia Long Crowther of Hagerstown, MD; sister Robin Mastiano of Williamsport, MD; brother Ronald Long of Williamsport, MD; brother Donald Long of Clear Spring, MD; brother in law Gib Noll of Downsville, MD.

He was predeceased by a sister Constance Noll, brothers Joseph A. Long, Jr., and Joseph Moore and a great granddaughter Bristol Shawley.

Graveside services will be held at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Ernest Witmer officiating.
