Sandra Kay "Sandy" Sowers

Falling Waters, WV – Sandra Kay “Sandy” Sowers, 63, of Falling Waters, WV passed away on Friday, June 28, 2019 at Hospice of the Panhandle Kearneysville, WV.

She was born on April 26, 1956 in Baltimore, MD to the late Austin Wayne and Gloria Ann Ceravalo Green.  She helped take care of her mother until her passing in 2018.

She was preceded in death by her lifelong partner Gordon Francis Gamber on May 10, 2006.

Sandy was a 1974 graduate of Hedgesville High School Hedgesville, WV.

She was employed by Potomac Post #202 American Legion of Williamsport, MD for many years until retiring in 1996.

She was a member of Amvets Post #38 Ladies Auxiliary Falling Waters, WV.

She was of the Protestant Faith.

Sandy was a breast cancer survivor.

She enjoyed gardening, playing bingo, playing tip jars, making crafts, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Sandy is survived by her daughter April M. Russell and her husband John of Wauseon, OH; daughter Julia J. Gamber and her partner Scott Palmer of Falling Waters, WV; brother James Green of Falling Waters, WV; brother Jeff Green of Falling Waters, WV; brother Austin Green, Jr. of Falling Waters, WV; grandchildren Stacia, Stephen, Morgan, Victoria, Andrew, Sophie, and Zander; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at 11:00 am with Pastor Kim Nunberg officiating.  Interment will be in Harmony Cemetery Falling Waters, WV.  The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday from 10:00-11:00 am.
