Shirley Jean Harris

Williamsport, Maryland- Shirley Jean Harris, 91 of Williamsport, MD passed away on Saturday November 17, 2018 at Julia Manor Nursing Center in Hagerstown, MD.

Born September 30, 1927 in Williamsport, MD, she was the daughter of the late Louis L. and Mary C. Nave Kreps.  She was raised by her late aunt Sarah Bowman.  She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Theodore “Ted” Harris in 1995.

Shirley was a 1945 graduate of Williamsport High School.

She retired from Western Maryland Hospital Center in Hagerstown where she worked as a CNA.  She was previously employed with the Federal Silk Mill and Alkahn Label Mill both in Williamsport.

She was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church in Williamsport.

Shirley is survived by 2 daughters Cathy Zapotocky of Mercersburg, PA and Debra Carbaugh of Smith Mountain Lake, VA, 3 sons Eugene Theodore Harris II of Williamsport, MD, David Harris of Conway, SC and Joseph Harris of Chambersburg, PA, a sister Patsy Landis of Williamsport, MD, 15 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents, the aunt who raised her and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter Sheryl Jean Bradley, a grandson Eugene Theodore Harris III, a great grandson Ethan Allen Dean, a sister Freda Mumma and 2 brothers Roy Kreps and Joseph Kreps.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday November 20, 2018 from 6:00-8:00pm at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD 21795.  For the Convenience of family and friends, the funeral home will open Tuesday at 9:00am.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 21, 2018 at 11:00am at the funeral home with Rodney Nave officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport.
